Akram Yazdani is an Assistant Professor at the McGovern Medical School, University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Her research lies at the intersection of artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) and molecular medicine. She develops and applies computational AI/ML algorithms to analyze large-scale molecular datasets and link them to clinical outcomes, to advance our understanding of disease progression, treatment response, and disease subtyping, particularly in cancer, neurological and neuropsychiatric disorders, and cardiovascular diseases. A core principle of her research is to generate reproducible and interpretable results while optimizing the analysis of complex, high-dimensional data.
