Andrea Calabria, PhD, is Senior Director of Data Science and Computational Biology at Tessera Therapeutics, where he leads his team integrating genomics, machine learning, and discovery analytics to advance next-generation gene writing medicines from early discovery through IND and first-in-human development. His work focuses on genomic safety, genotoxicity assessment, and long-term efficacy modeling to enable data-driven decision-making in gene therapy and genome editing. 

Previously trained in academic gene therapy research, Dr. Calabria has extensive experience with viral vectors and gene editing platforms, combining large-scale clonal tracking and computational modeling with clinical follow-up data. His research has been published in leading journals, including Nature, and has contributed to advancing quantitative frameworks for long-term safety and therapeutic optimization in hematopoietic stem cell gene therapy.
