Cristina Almagro-Pérez

Cristina Almagro-Pérez is a third-year PhD Candidate in the Health Sciences and Technology department at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard Medical School.  Her PhD work is conducted at the Brigham and Women's hospital, where she is advised by Professor Faisal Mahmood.  Her work focuses on 3D multi-modal computational pathology, integrating advanced AI methods to characterize the tumor microenvironment at the morphological and molecular levels. Prior to her doctoral studies, Cristina completed a Masters in Biomedical Engineering at ETH Zurich university (Switzerland) where she developed 3D computational pathology tools at the Swiss Light Synchrotron. She graduated from the University Carlos III of Madrid in 2021, completing a research stay at Johns Hopkins University. Her research work has been supported by national and international fellowships, including the Rafael del Pino Foundation, la Caixa Postgraduate Fellowship and the MIT Excellence Award.
