Head of Computational Science & Data Strategy (R&D leadership team) , Takeda

Hans is Head of Computational Science & Data Strategy, Research at Takeda Pharmaceuticals, where he leads a team of scientists and engineers focused on building a high-impact data science organisation in pharma R&D.

With 20+ years’ experience across oncology, immunology and virology, he has worked from early target identification and validation through to translational and clinical applications, spanning bioinformatics, cheminformatics and machine learning across startups and large pharma. Previously, he led computational sciences at MOMA Therapeutics, building capabilities to integrate biological and chemical data and supporting the Knomatic Platform and Roche collaboration.

He also led data sciences at bluebird bio and held senior bioinformatics leadership roles at Novartis (NIBR) and Roche. Hans earned a PhD from UC Berkeley and an AB from Princeton.
