Julie Filipenko
As the Vice President of Clinical Data Management at Graviton Bioscience Julie leads all aspects of clinical data management and clinical data science and has over 20 years of experience across pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical devices, hospital, Contract Research Organizations (CROs), and information technology industries.
Julie’s experience involved Phase I/II, Phase III, registry and real-world evidence studies in neurology, oncology, women health, and endocrinology. She is a strategic leader with expertise in building data management departments from the ground up, vendor oversight, technology and innovation.
Julie holds a Bachelor of Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Master of Science from Columbia University in Biomedical Engineering. She is a Certified Clinical Data Manager (CCDM) and has been involved in Society of Clinical Data Management (SCDM) for over 16 years, holding various volunteer positions (Academic Task Force co-chair, Annual Conference session chair and speaker, has been elected to serve on the Board of Trustees for 2026-2029)). Julie contributed to developing the Certified Clinical Data Scientist (CCDS) Beta Exam, is a Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium (CDISC) volunteer, and a co-author on the upcoming Good Clinical Data Management Practices Design & Development of Data Collection chapter. Julie is a co-author and a patent holder of classification of traumatic brain injury severity using informed data reduction in a series of binary classifier algorithms, and a co-author of several articles and posters in oncology.
