Lauren is the Lead Bioinformatics Scientist in the East Coast Information Research Department at AbbVie.  

She works with machine learning experts, full stack developers, data scientists, and bioinformaticians to develop software solutions for R&D scientist to drive biological insight.  

Lauren has a PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology from the University of North Carolina, where she used multiomics technologies to study chromatin remodeling proteins and their interactomes, and how mutations in these proteins lead to congenital heart disease. She then transitioned from the bench to the keyboard full time as the Director of Bioinformatics at Honeycomb Biotechnologies before moving to AbbVie. She currently serves on the Scientific Advisory Board for Brandeis Universities Bioinformatics Master's Degree Program.  With over 20 publications in her 15 years experience in the 'omics space, Lauren is passionate about making omics data and insights accesible to all scientists.
