Orr Ashenberg

Associate Director, Computational Biology, Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard
As associate director of computational biology at the Klarman Cell Observatory of the Broad Institute, I work closely with experimental biologists to develop and carry out the multi-omics analyses needed to profile cells, as well as to guide the next set of biological questions. I am the computational lead for the Human Tumor Atlas Pilot Project in the NCI, where I lead the efforts of the computational biologists carrying out single-cell transcriptomic and spatial genomics studies of seven different cancer types. I supervise and mentor a group of computational biologists doing single-cell research in diverse systems such as inflammatory disease, infectious disease, and cancer. During my training, I have done research in computational biology, genomics, virology, immunology, and molecular evolution.
