Shicheng Guo
Shicheng Guo is Senior Director of Translational Genetics and Data Science at Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals, where he leads the development of AI-integrated decision-making frameworks across drug discovery and development. His work focuses on translating large-scale human data—including biobanks, multi-omics, and real-world evidence—into actionable insights for target identification, liability assessment, and clinical strategy.
Dr. Guo specializes in moving beyond standalone AI models toward end-to-end decision systems that are embedded in scientific workflows. He has led the design and implementation of platforms that integrate statistical genetics, machine learning, and domain knowledge to support high-confidence R&D decisions in areas such as target prioritization and patient stratification.
Prior to Arrowhead, Dr. Guo was a Principal Scientist at Johnson & Johnson, where he developed AI-driven analytical pipelines for human genetics and translational research. He received his PhD from Fudan University and completed postdoctoral training at the University of Texas, UC San Diego, and the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
In addition to his industry role, Dr. Guo is actively engaged in the broader scientific community, contributing to initiatives at the intersection of AI, genomics, and drug discovery. His current focus is on advancing the operationalization of AI in biomedical R&D—transforming models into scalable, trusted systems that drive real-world scientific and clinical decisions.
