Russell is focusing on RNA structure and epigenetics at AstraZeneca, in the Translational Science and Experimental Medicine group within Early Respiratory and Immunology therapeutic area. Prior to joining AstraZeneca, he led a research group (2 PhD students, 2 postdocs) in the Department of Genetics, University of Cambridge and headed the bioinformatics facility in Centre for Trophoblast Research, University of Cambridge. He previously worked at CEGX (now Biomodal) developing epigenetics sequencing methodologies.
