Simeón is an experienced non-executive director and board advisor, working primarily in the health, biotech and life sciences sectors. He provides specialist counsel on engagement, strategy, reputation, risk, communications, media, crisis and government affairs. In his ‘day job’ Sim is Director of External Affairs at Genomics England and additionally co-leads the ‘Engaging to Build Trust’ tribe, with the Director of Ethics, who together act as joint SRO on engagement, communications, reputation, ethics, assurance and data protection. Simeón is a dual national (UK and Canada), a member of the Canadian College of Health Leaders and a member of both the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) and the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) in the UK. He has over 20 years experience, working in government, the NHS, biotech and startups, with significant board level and senior leadership team experience, both in the UK and Latin America. Sim is bilingual in Spanish and English. He is a highly creative and resourceful communications, engagement, public relations and public affairs leader, with a proven track record of high quality delivery in both the public and private sectors. Sim has extensive experience in strategic development, organisational mergers, perception change, branding and identity, in addition to exceptional written, verbal and diplomatic skills, ensuring a reputation for effective change management, crisis handling, diplomacy and discretion.
