Dr. Lisa Schmunk is the Research & Development Manager at Hurdle (https://hurdle.bio/), where she brings novel multi-omic and multi-modal biomarkers with applications in the diagnostics space to life. With a particular interest in biological interpretability and accessibility, her team recently developed a novel saliva epigenetic clock quantifying chronic inflammation. She holds a PhD in Integrative Human Genomics from the University of Cambridge (Public Health & Primary Care). She started her scientific journey at the University of Freiburg, Germany, where she obtained a first class honours and Master of Science degree in Biology.
