Andrew has a background in biochemistry and molecular biology and received his PhD from UCL in DNA helicase unwinding mechanisms. Andrew started his biotech career in drug discovery developing in vitro enzyme assays for drug screening. He then joined a small startup in Cambridge focused on developing innovative sample and library prep techniques for the growing NGS field. He joined Illumina in 2014 where he now leads an assay technology and product development team focused on library prep and applications for sequencing. Andrew has developed multiple technologies now part of many different Illumina products.
