Dr Asha Patel is senior lecturer in Advanced Therapies at the National Heart & Lung Institute, Imperial College London. Her research is addressing challenges in airway delivery of RNA to repair injured lung, restore tissue homeostasis or treat monogenic disease. The Patel group converges expertise in pharmaceutical chemistry, materials synthesis, and regenerative medicine to develop novel biomaterials for gene delivery, engineer mRNA for controlled protein expression and interrogate molecular targets for advanced therapeutic strategies.
