Dr Charlotte Hulme is a Lecturer at in the School of Pharmacy and Bioengineering (PhaB) based at Keele’s partner site, the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital (RJAH), Oswestry. Charlotte obtained a BSc (Hons) in Biology from The University of Manchester in 2011. She then completed a PhD in Developmental Medicine at the University of Manchester. Here, she developed an interest in using systems biology approaches (transcriptomics/ proteomics/ metabolomics) to identify important biological mechanisms underlying disease/injury that can be validated using cellular and molecular laboratory techniques. In 2015, she joined Keele University as a postdoctoral research associate working in the groups of Dr Karina Wright and Prof Sally Roberts. She has worked on projects to identify biomarkers to predict outcome following Spinal Cord Injury and treatments for cartilage repair/early Osteoarthritis. In 2023, Charlotte was appointed as a Lecturer in Regenerative Medicine at Keele University, continuing to research at the RJAH Orthopaedic hospital.
