Janet is one of the creators of the DISGENET platform, one of the largest disease genomics repositories available, with over 6,500 citations and thousands of monthly users.
She is interested in creating computational tools to integrate, explore, and visualize disease genomics data, focusing on disease genomics, NLP, precision medicine, and knowledge graphs.
She earned a Ph.D. in Biomedicine from Pompeu Fabra University in 2016, where she also teaches biomedical data mining and integration as an associate professor. In addition to DISGENET, she has helped develop other bioinformatics tools to understand disease mechanisms, drug action, and toxicity, and she has contributed to several European-funded projects advancing precision medicine and drug R&D.
