Dr. Manu Verma is a Senior Scientist at the Novo Nordisk Research Centre Oxford (NNRCO), where he leads multiple high-throughput drug discovery programs as a part of the Target Discovery Engine. His team focuses on utilizing high-dimensional biology to develop innovative therapies for cardiometabolic diseases. Dr. Verma possesses over four years of experience in leading and mentoring cross-functional project teams in early drug discovery, alongside more than thirteen years of experience in functional genomics, human genetics, and data science in context of human disease biology. His multidisciplinary research journey includes a prestigious Oxford-Novo Nordisk Fellowship at the University of Oxford (2016 - 2020), concentrating on mapping the functional impact of genetic variants linked to obesity and diabetes. This research encompassed human studies, multi-omics analyses on human cells, and in silico methodologies. Prior to this, Dr. Verma earned his Ph.D. (2016) and M.Res. (2011) in Cardiovascular Science from the University of Edinburgh, followed by an M.Sc with Distinction (2010) in Medical Genetics from the University of Glasgow, and a B.Engineering (2009) in India. His research has been published in numerous prestigious journals, and he has delivered oral presentations at several national and international conferences.
