Adam Butterworth is a Professor of Molecular Epidemiology in the Department of Public Health and Primary Care at University of Cambridge. He completed training in genetics at the University of Cambridge and genetic epidemiology at the University of Sheffield, before completing a PhD at the University of Cambridge. Dr Butterworth’s group is primarily interested in combining genetic and multi-omic data at scale to provide insights in the aetiology of cardiovascular disease and other complex diseases. Their studies on proteomics and metabolomics harness deeply phenotyped molecular bioresources, such as the INTERVAL and BELIEVE studies, as well as national and international consortia of population cohorts.
