Whilst studying medicine at the University of Birmingham, Esther Moss developed an interest in gynaecological oncology and furthered this by studying for an MSc in Clinical Oncology, also at the University of Birmingham. Esther was awarded a Wellbeing of Women Research Training Fellowship in order to undertake a PhD at Keele University for which she was awarded the Edgar Gentilli Prize by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists for her original research. Following subspecialty training Dr Moss was appointed as a consultant gynaecological oncologist at the University Hospitals of Leicester in 2012, instigating a programme of gynaecological oncology research and subsequently establishing the Leicester Gynaecological Cancer Research Group (LGCRG) which is now an integral part of the Leicester Cancer Research Centre and Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre.
