Karen is currently lead midwife for genomics at Central and South GMSA. With over 30 years’ experience within midwifery, she first developed an interest in genomics whilst working as lead ANC / fetal medicine midwife and later as screening co-ordinator, both at trust, and regional level. In her current role she is particularly focussed on raising awareness amongst midwives of the potential that genomics offers to parents on their pregnancy, birth and parenthood journeys. She recently completed a post graduate certificate in genomic healthcare.
