André Gerber
Professor of RNA Biology
University of Surrey

André studied Biochemistry at the University of Zurich and obtained a PhD in Cell Biology from the University of Basel for his work on adenosine deaminases acting on RNA. He completed post-doctoral studies at Stanford University where he started to explore RNA-protein interactions on a genome-wide scale. In 2004, he became an independent research group leader at the ETH Zurich, further investigating post-transcriptional gene regulation by RNA-binding proteins and non-coding RNAs with genomic and proteomic means in model organisms and human cells. Since 2012 he is Professor of RNA biology at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Surrey, UK.
