Working with the Genomics England Research Environment to Access Powerful Genomics and Clinical Data

Date: Day 1, Wednesday 29th January 2025
Timings: 11:40 - 12:40
Location: The Gallery Room SG12

The Genomics England Research Environment provides a portal to the genomic and clinical NGRL data, collected as part of the 100,000 Genomes Project and the NHS Genomic Medicine Service. Featuring genomes of rare disease probands and their families, and cancer germline and somatic genomes, along with detailed medical history data obtained through our collaboration with the NHS, this continually expanding dataset is invaluable for research into genomic medicine, as well as providing diagnoses for participants. Anonymised data are presented in a controlled-access research environment, providing tools, software and a cloud-based HPC for their analysis. This workshop will introduce you to the data that is available in the research environment, provide demonstrations of the tools you can use to work with it and discuss the impacts of participant privacy on your work.
