Advanced Therapies Wales
Advanced Therapies Wales (ATW) are an all-Wales programme hosted by Velindre University NHS Trust. Being the only dedicated national programme in the UK, they provide a central source for coalescing resources, activity, interest and ambition in the advanced therapies landscape. They also co-lead the Midlands-Wales Advanced Therapy Treatment Centre as part of the UK wide ATTC network.
Last year they coproduced the Delivery Plan for Advanced Therapies in Wales, giving a five year roadmap for the entire community. It's focus is achieving the following four goals: Goal 1 – Nurturing the Advanced Therapies ecosystem, Goal 2 – Developing pathways for healthcare delivery of Advanced Therapies, Goal 3 – Cultivating Advanced Therapies research capacity and capability, Goal 4 – Providing a central point of access or Advanced Therapies navigation, information and engagement. Successful delivery of these goals relies on three cross cutting themes: Patient and public involvement and engagement, workforce development and strategic partnerships.
