Helical is building the virtual AI lab for pharma - the application layer that turns bio foundation models from research tools into reproducible discovery workflows.

We believe the deployment era of AI for R&D has begun: an era where every scientist can test hypotheses at the speed of inference, rather than being constrained by slow and expensive wet labs.

In practice, pharma often speaks a different language. Teams end up with bespoke notebooks and custom pipelines, ML engineers and bench scientists operate in separate worlds, and programs remain stuck in pilots with a gap between expectations and real-world performance. That’s not a model problem.

Helical focuses on two things: building productized workflows that support more programs with fewer resources, and driving performance where it actually matters: post-training and model alignment, which is where we’re building a significant moat.
