UK Longitudinal Linkage Collaboration (UK LLC) is the national Trusted Research Environment (TRE) for data linkage in longitudinal research.
Led by the Universities of Bristol and Edinburgh, funded by UKRI, MRC and ESRC, it simplifies access to linked data for research in the public good, supporting discoveries across health, social, behavioural and economic research.
UK LLC brings together data from 25 major Longitudinal Population Studies with more to follow, depositing data from more than 670,000 participants. UK LLC links these to NHS health records, administrative and socio-economic data (HM Revenues and Customs, the Department for Work and Pensions) as well as place-based data.
Access is free for UK-based ONS-accredited researchers undertaking public good research. A single application process provides access to data within an ISO 27001 and Digital Economy Act-accredited TRE managed by SeRP UK.
Public and participant involvement is embedded throughout governance and project approval processes.
