Adrian Freeman

Adrian is a Pharmaceutical Executive with 25+ years of experience leading drug discovery, development, and innovation across global R&D organisations. He has a proven track record of advancing therapeutics from early discovery through clinical development, with multiple programmes progressing to Phase III and commercialisation.

Currently, he leads bioanalytical strategy across a global biopharmaceutical development portfolio, providing scientific and strategic leadership that supports key development decisions across the pipeline. He is experienced in portfolio governance, investment prioritisation, budget accountability, and aligning innovation with business objectives.

A strong advocate for AI-enabled R&D, he has championed the adoption of artificial intelligence, machine learning, advanced analytics, and multimodal biological data to transform drug discovery and development, including leading the development of a hypothesis-free indication discovery platform to identify novel therapeutic opportunities and support data-driven decision-making. To complement his leadership experience, he has completed training in coding and data science and is currently undertaking a Postgraduate Certificate in Artificial Intelligence with the University of Liverpool.
