Angelica Ronald is Professor of Psychology and Genetics in the School of Psychology in the Faculty for Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Surrey. Professor Ronald has 25 years' experience of research with a focus on genetic and environmental causes of neurodevelopmental and mental health conditions in children and adolescence. She gained postdoctoral training in molecular genetics funded by an Autism Speaks fellowship and a PhD in the quantitative genetics of autistic traits from King’s College London.

Prior to that she received her BA from the University of Oxford in Experimental Psychology.  Her research prizes include the 2026 World Congress of Psychiatric Genetics Richard Todd award for research on the genetics of child psychiatry and the Association for Psychological Sciences Janet Taylor Spence award. Prof Ronald is a Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science and was joint editor of the Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry for the last 8 years. She is passionate about using genetic research to understand child development.
