Aylwyn Scally is a geneticist and evolutionary biologist at the University of Cambridge, whose research focuses on human and primate evolution through the analysis of genomic data. His work combines population genetics, computational biology and mathematical approaches to investigate how mutation, natural selection, demographic change and population structure have shaped human genomes. He has a particular interest in understanding the rates and patterns of germline mutation and what these can reveal about human evolution. His research also uses genomic data from both modern and ancient populations to investigate human evolutionary history and the forces that continue to shape genetic variation.
