Becky Saunders

Associate Director, Computational Biology and Data Science , Tangram Therapeutics

Becky Saunders is Associate Director of Computational Biology at e-therapeutics, where she leads advanced computational efforts that drive the company’s RNA-interference–based therapeutic discovery platform. Since joining the organisation in 2022—first as Principal Computational Biologist and now as a senior leader—she has played a pivotal role in shaping analytical strategy, integrating large-scale functional genomics data, and guiding data-driven decision-making across therapeutic programmes. Her work spans target discovery, network biology, and algorithmic innovation, supporting the development of next-generation medicines.

Before moving into her current leadership position, Becky served as a Scientific Investigator in Human Genetics and Computational Biology at GSK. There, she focused on analysing functional genomics perturbation data to identify and prioritise drug targets, contributing to critical early-stage discovery pipelines and helping refine methods for high-resolution genetic insight.

Earlier in her career, Becky spent over four years at The Francis Crick Institute as Principal Informatician, where she specialised in analysing high-throughput and high-content functional perturbation screens to uncover gene function. She previously spent nearly eight years at Cancer Research UK as Principal Scientific Officer, where she established data-analysis pipelines and helped build the capability of a high-throughput screening core facility—laying foundational systems that supported diverse research teams.
