Caroline Weis is a Director of AI for Science at GSK.ai. She has built and leads a team working on developing generative clinical foundation models trained on large-scale electronic health records. Throughout her career, her research has focused on building reusable AI capabilities to improve the biological understanding of disease and patient outcomes in healthcare. Her broader research interests include biomedical foundation models, explainable AI, and causality. Before joining GSK.ai, Caroline obtained her PhD from ETH Zurich, where she focused on predicting antimicrobial resistance from early-available microbial mass spectra.
