Chantal Ebel

Associate Professor, University of Sfax

Dr Chantal Ebel is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Biotechnology of Sfax (ISBS). She received her PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology in 2000 from the University of Strasbourg, France, and her HDR in Biological Engineering in 2017 from the National School of Engineering of Sfax (ENIS), Tunisia. During her academic career, she has worked at internationally renowned research centres, including ETH Zurich, where she completed a postdoc on the control of the plant cell cycle.

Her main research interest is fighting the deleterious effects of climate change on crop growth and productivity, using integrative approaches including functional genomics, plant physiology, and biotechnology. She has led several collaborative projects with France, Spain and the UK, and is part of the team coordinating the Horizon Europe Twinning project INPLANTOMICS.
