Chloe Wong

Reader in Epigenomics , King's College London
Dr Chloe Wong is Reader (Associate Professor) in Epigenomics at King’s College London’s Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN), where she leads the Psychiatric Epigenetics Group. Her interdisciplinary research programme focuses on epigenetics, a fundamental biological mechanism mediating interactions between genetics and the environment, in the context of neuropsychiatric disorders. She investigates how environmental exposures and life experiences become biologically embedded through processes such as DNA methylation and epigenetic ageing, and how these influence mental health outcomes. Dr Wong is particularly interested in the potential of epigenetic biomarkers to inform intervention and prevention strategies for mental health and wellbeing. She has published extensively on conditions including autism, psychosis, and antidepressant response, as well as on the impact of environmental factors and unique experiences, such as trauma exposure and cannabis use, on the epigenome. Her research is supported by national and international funders, and she is an active contributor to multidisciplinary consortia on genomics and health.
