Daria Gavriouchkina
Daria Gavriouchkina is the Platform Manager for the Single Cell and Spatial Transcriptomics Platform at the UK Dementia Research Institute (UK DRI). In this role, she leads the implementation and development of cutting-edge single-cell and spatial transcriptomic technologies to support research into the cellular and molecular mechanisms that drive dementia and related neurodegenerative diseases. Since joining UK DRI in 2023, she has played a key role in enabling researchers to generate high-resolution data and integrate advanced approaches into their projects.
Before joining UK DRI, Daria worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University (OIST) for nearly six years, where she focused on [insert specific research area—e.g., developmental biology, transcriptomics, neural systems]. She previously held a postdoctoral position at the University of Oxford, contributing to projects in [insert area, e.g., molecular neuroscience, systems biology].
Daria completed her PhD at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Heidelberg, Germany, where she trained in advanced molecular biology and genomics methods. With more than 15 years of international research experience across EMBL, Oxford, OIST, and now UK DRI, she brings deep expertise in single-cell biology, transcriptomics, and interdisciplinary approaches to understanding brain function and dysfunction.
