Garima Khandelwal
Garima Khandelwal is a Senior Principal Scientist at GSK, where she plays a leading role in shaping scientific capability across both early- and late-stage drug discovery pipelines. Over nearly five years at GSK, she has led multiple matrixed teams, fostered collaboration across scientific domains, and driven the progression of critical drug targets. Her work has been instrumental in modernising research workflows—most notably through the development of strategic automation processes that have reduced manual burden and improved overall productivity. In her current role, she also trains and upskills parallel teams, helping to build a more adaptable, high-performing scientific workforce.
Before stepping into her senior leadership position, Garima worked as a Computational Biologist at GSK, where she applied her expertise in data-driven discovery, critical thinking, and complex analytical methods to support projects across research and development.
Prior to joining industry, Garima built a strong academic foundation in bioinformatics and cancer biology. She served as a Bioinformatician at UCL, contributing to oncology-focused research and advanced computational analyses. Before that, she completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at the Cancer Research UK Manchester Institute, where her work centred on oncology, molecular biology, and the application of computational approaches to biological problems.
