Jorg Harinder

 Professor of Neurochemistry, University of Gothernburg 

Jörg Hanrieder is an Associate Professor/Senior Lecturer in Neurochemistry at the Sahlgrenska Academy at the University of Gothenburg (GU), Sweden and Queen Square Institute of Neurology, University College London. His group has been leading the development of MS imaging and other chemical imaging modalities for investigating amyloid plaque formation dynamics in Alzheimer’s disease.

Jörg has a background in chemistry (MSc, University of Leipzig, Germany) and neurochemistry (PhD, Uppsala University, Sweden). Following a Postdoc at Chalmers University of Technology, he joined GU as an Assistant Professor in 2015. In 2017, he was promoted to Associate Professor at GU and 2022 at UCL. His team consists of 6 PhD students and 3 Postdocs working on various aspects of neurochemical and neurobiological research to understand mechanism underlying protein aggregation, synaptic impairment and neurotoxicity in AD pathology.
