Harpreet Saini
Harpreet Saini is the Senior Director and head of the Bioinformatics Group at Astex Pharmaceuticals, a fragment-based drug discovery (FBDD) company based in Cambridge, United Kingdom. She earned her PhD in Bioinformatics in 2004 from the Institute of Microbial Technology in India and completed her postdoctoral research in 2009 at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, focusing on the genomic annotation of microRNAs. Before joining Astex Pharmaceuticals in 2014, she worked at the European Bioinformatics Institute, where she developed novel computational methods to predict noncoding RNAs and their role in germ cell tumours. At Astex, her team leverages high-throughput multi-omics technologies and computational methods to support new targets, biomarker discovery, and patient stratification for preclinical and clinical studies focused on oncology and neurodegeneration.
