Harry Sokol

Group Leader, Micalis Institute

Harry Sokol is Professor in the Gastroenterology department at Saint Antoine Hospital (AP-HP, Paris, France), Co-Director of the Microbiota, Gut & Inflammation team (INSERM, Sorbonne Université), and Group Leader at the Micalis Institute (INRAE). He is an internationally recognised expert in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and gut microbiota, and has published over 400 papers on these topics in major journals.

His work currently focuses on deciphering gut microbiota-host interactions in health and disease, to develop innovative treatments. He is the current president of the French Group of Fecal Microbiota Transplantation, and the coordinator of the FMT centre at AP-HP Paris hospitals. Since 2020, he has been recognised as a Highly Cited Researcher (Clarivate, Web of Science). He is currently Associate Editor for Gastroenterology, and co-founded Exeliom Biosciences.
