Dr Helena Andres-Terre is an Associate Director at UCB, working at the intersection of artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, and clinical development. With a background in mathematics, theoretical physics, and machine learning, she focuses on developing innovative methodologies that accelerate evidence generation and improve decision-making in healthcare.  

Her work spans AI-enabled drug development, synthetic data, digital health, and regulatory innovation. She has led collaborative initiatives exploring the use of synthetic data in clinical research and has been actively engaged in cross-sector discussions involving regulators, industry, and academic partners on the safe and effective adoption of emerging AI technologies. 

At UCB, Helena contributes to the development of strategic programmes that combine scientific rigor with technological innovation, helping bridge the gap between methodological research and real-world impact. She is particularly interested in how novel computational approaches can expand access to evidence, support underrepresented populations, and establish new frameworks for trustworthy and transparent use of AI in healthcare.
