James Campbell

James Campbell is a Bioinformatics Training Developer at The Francis Crick Institute, where he supports researchers in developing their computational skills and applying bioinformatics approaches to their own research. He delivers training across R and Python programming, high-performance computing, Git and nf-core pipelines, alongside providing hands-on support through regular bioinformatics drop-in sessions. 

James began his career as a biologist before moving into bioinformatics during his PhD, where he developed computational approaches to automate the analysis of experimental data. He has since worked across proteomics and next-generation sequencing, including roles at Proteome Sciences and The Institute of Cancer Research, where he contributed to NGS applications, whole-genome genetic screens and the development of bioinformatics infrastructure. 

His work focuses on making computational approaches more accessible to researchers and enabling scientists to make better use of increasingly complex biological datasets.
