James Doroghazi is Head of Traits Digitalisation and Genomics at Syngenta, where he leads cross-functional teams working at the intersection of AI, data science, and genomics. His work focuses on transforming complex biological and operational data into governed, AI-enabled platforms that improve scientific decision-making, accelerate discovery, and enable more scalable evidence generation. He leads programmes spanning pangenome graphs, genomic prediction, target discovery, generative AI, responsible AI adoption, and agent-based scientific workflows. He holds a PhD in Microbiology from Cornell University, and has more than a decade of experience at Bayer and Syngenta applying genomics, bioinformatics, and emerging technology to advance life sciences R&D at the frontier of data science, genomics, and AI.
