Kathleen Lidell

Professor of Intellectual Property and Medical Law , University of Cambridge
Professor Kathy Liddell is the Director of the Centre for Law, Medicine and Life Sciences (LML) and the Herschel Smith Professor of Intellectual Property and Medical Law at the University of Cambridge. Her research seeks to support health and medical technologies by improving the legal frameworks that govern these areas. Her work appears in leading medical and legal journals, and she has secured grants from institutions such as the Wellcome Trust and the Novo Nordisk Foundation. Professor Liddell studied law and natural sciences at the University of Melbourne, earned a doctorate in law at the University of Oxford and a Masters of Bioethics at Monash University. Alongside academia, she has experience in private legal practice, policymaking and the civil service.
