Katie Law

Katie Law is a Genomics Programme Manager with the Greater Manchester Diagnostics Network and Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance, working at the intersection of genomics, clinical pathways, workforce transformation and service implementation.

With a background in nursing and extensive experience in clinical leadership, quality improvement and service transformation, she brings a strong focus on translating innovation into sustainable change across the NHS. Over the past two years, she has worked predominantly across cancer genomics pathways, supporting the development and implementation of approaches that help services and clinicians navigate an increasingly complex genomic landscape. She is also leading work to develop a multi-year strategy for genomics across Greater Manchester, extending the focus beyond cancer.

She takes a data-driven approach to transformation, using data and intelligence to identify evidence-based drivers for change, understand variation and monitor inequalities. She has a particular interest in designing dashboards and approaches to measurement that turn complex data into meaningful insight, enabling teams to understand impact, target improvement and track whether changes are delivering equitable outcomes. She is passionate about co-production and collaboration, bringing together clinical, scientific, operational and programme perspectives to design solutions that work in practice and can be sustained beyond the initial pilot.

At the Festival of Genomics, she will explore lessons from the Genomic Navigator pilot and the wider challenge of moving from successful innovation to sustainable implementation, including how the sector defines the role, measures impact, develops the genomics workforce and supports non-laboratory clinicians to navigate increasingly complex genomic pathways.
