Katie Wilde

Katie Wilde is Co-Director for Scotland at Health Data Research UK (HDR UK) and Head of Digital Research at the University of Aberdeen, where she leads three teams that support researchers with everything from data management planning to high-performance computing. 

Katie led the creation of the Grampian Safe Haven (DaSH), one of Scotland's five Trusted Research Environments, and secured ISO 27001 certification for the service. As DaSH Director, and holding an Honorary Contract with NHS Grampian, she works closely with colleagues across the region to give researchers secure access to sensitive health data. The service now supports more than 700 projects across a wide range of health informatics. 

Katie joined the University of Aberdeen as a Graduate Trainee after completing a Master's in Mathematics, and has progressed into her current leadership role. She is passionate about making it safer and easier for researchers to use health data, so that findings reach patients sooner.
