Helene Kretzmer

Prof. Kretzmer is a bio-mathematician by training who did her Postdoctoral training in bioinformatics at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics. In October 2024, she was newly appointed as the Chair for Computational Genomics at the Hasso Plattner Institute.
Her research focuses on integrating multimodal sequencing data, machine learning, and software development to bridge basic and translational research. Specifically, she is interested in understanding how diseases manifest at the molecular level and in applying this knowledge to improve patient care.
