Lesley Anderson
Professor Lesley Anderson is Interdisciplinary Institute Director for Health, Nutrition and Wellbeing and Chair in Health Data Science at the University of Aberdeen. An internationally recognised cancer epidemiologist and health data scientist, she leads research using linked routine healthcare, genomic, registry and laboratory data to improve understanding of disease pathways, early diagnosis and health service delivery.
Her work spans rare cancers, genomics, population health, data linkage, AI evaluation and real-world evidence generation, and she has extensive experience in the use of trusted research environments and national data infrastructures to support impactful health research. Previously Deputy Director of the Northern Ireland Cancer Registry, she now leads interdisciplinary programmes focused on health data science, cancer epidemiology and healthcare innovation.
