Matt Silver

Associate Professor, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine

Matt Silver is a bioinformatician and statistical geneticist. He leads the Nutritional Genetics and Epigenetics Group at MRC Unit The Gambia and is Associate Professor of Epigenetic Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He has a long-standing interest in exploring the molecular basis of links between early life exposures and long-term health outcomes.

He previously worked as Lead Genomic Data Scientist on the Diverse Data programme at Genomics England, focussing on investigating the impact of genetic ancestry on variant prioritisation for rare disease and cancer diagnostics and treatment.
