Amedeo Minichino

Dr. Amedeo is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Oxford and a Wellcome Trust Early Career Fellow.
His research focuses on the interplay between the gut microbiome and psychotropic medications, investigating how microbial metabolism shapes drug absorption, efficacy, and tolerability. He uses translational approaches, combining in vitro and gnotobiotic models with human clinical studies, to uncover microbiome-drug interactions and develop personalized treatment strategies for patients with mental illness.
