Nikolina Nakic

 VP & Head of Target Discovery , Novo Nordisk

Nikolina Nakic is Vice President of Digital Biology at Novo Nordisk, where she leads a global team integrating genetics, computational biology, and clinical omics across the drug discovery pipeline. Her team collaborates closely across early disease understanding, target discovery, translational science, and clinical study support, with the goal of enhancing decision-making quality and speed throughout the organization. 

Before her current role, Nikolina served in multiple senior leadership positions at Novo Nordisk, including VP of Target Discovery and Interim VP of Computational Biology, overseeing multidisciplinary teams across the UK, US, Copenhagen, Boston, and Beijing. She has extensive experience in AI-driven drug discovery, systems biology, functional genomics, and statistical genetics, with a focus on identifying disease causal mechanisms and accelerating target and biomarker discovery. 

Prior to joining Novo Nordisk, Nikolina spent almost eight years at GSK in senior computational biology roles, leading cross-functional teams and external collaborations with institutions such as the Sanger Institute and EMBL. She has also held academic positions at Imperial College London, including Honorary Lecturer and Visiting Researcher.
