Dr. Nilufer Rahmioglu is a Senior Research Fellow at the Nuffield Department of Women’s and Reproductive Health and Centre for Human Genetics, University of Oxford in genetic epidemiology and women’s health. She holds a PhD in Medicine from King’s College London, an MSc in Environmental Health from the Cyprus International Institute/Harvard School of Public Health, and a BA in Biology from Clark University (USA). Her research uses large-scale genomic and population data to understand the biological diversity of endometriosis and other reproductive conditions, their subtypes and associated health outcomes.

She plays a leading role in international endometriosis genomics research and has contributed to major global efforts to translate genetic discoveries into a better understanding of disease biology. Alongside her work at Oxford, she founded the Cyprus Women’s Health Research initiative, establishing one of the largest population-based studies of women’s health in the Eastern Mediterranean. Her broader work focuses on addressing gaps in women’s health research and improving representation of historically understudied populations. She has a strong international publication record, with an H-index of 38, and regularly presents her work at major international scientific conferences.
