Nirupa Murugaesu

Nirupa Murugaesu graduated from UCL Medical School in 2001 and completed her general medical training in London. She subsequently trained in Medical Oncology at St Bartholomew's and University College London Hospitals, and completed a PhD at The Institute of Cancer Research in 2011. Following this, she completed a Clinical Lectureship in the Translational Cancer Therapeutics Laboratory at University College London and The Francis Crick Institute.

She is a Consultant in Medical Oncology at Guy's & St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, and Honorary Senior Lecturer at King's College London School of Medicine, with a specialist interest in colorectal cancer and precision oncology. She was appointed Principal Clinician for Cancer Genomics at Genomics England, and Medical Lead in Cancer Genomics for the South East Genomic Laboratory Hub. These roles include clinical leadership to transform delivery of molecular testing in clinical cancer care, and to enhance research outputs.
