Opeyemi Soremkun
Lecturer
,
University of Exeter
Dr. Opeyemi Soremekun is a computational genomicist whose research advances precision medicine through the integration of multi-omics data. His work applies genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics to uncover the genetic architecture and biological pathways underlying cardiometabolic diseases, with a strong focus on African ancestry populations. Dr. Soremekun has led and contributed to projects using GWAS, Mendelian Randomization, polygenic risk scores, and proteomics for disease risk prediction and therapeutic target discovery. He also led the first protein QTL map study for type 2 diabetes in an African population. He is a Lecturer at the department of clinical and Biomedical Sciences at University of Exeter, UK.
